  • The best version of you

We empower members to be the best they can be, for themselves and for society around them

We do this by providing a structure of support to help you make positive contributions to your local communities, whether it be through fundraising events or volunteer work.

  • Heritage and history

We are a unique members’ organisation that has thrived for over 300 years

Our roots lie in the traditions and ceremonies of the medieval stonemasons who built our cathedrals and castles.

  • Charitable work

Freemasonry is one of the largest charitable givers in the country

Charity has always been a core principle of Freemasonry. Individuals can make an important contribution at local, national and global level by giving both their time and money.

The Decision is Yours.

People join Freemasonry for a myriad of reasons, each finding their unique path within its ancient traditions. One of the most profound attractions of Freemasonry is the opportunity to forge deep, lasting friendships. These bonds often span a lifetime, providing support and camaraderie through all of life's significant milestones, whether in joy or adversity. In Freemasonry, you encounter individuals from all walks of life - people whose paths you might never have crossed otherwise. You'll meet those of different ages, from diverse backgrounds, and with a wide array of life experiences and interests. Yet, despite these differences, members are united by their common experience in Freemasonry.

Our fraternity boasts a rich tapestry of members drawn from every corner of society. For three centuries, Freemasons have included captains of industry, chief executives, manual laborers, and forklift truck drivers. This diversity offers a wealth of perspectives, encompassing all races, religions, social classes, and backgrounds. It's a place where every member can learn from the other, fostering a culture of mutual respect and understanding.

Many are also drawn to the ceremonial aspect of Freemasonry. Our meetings, steeped in centuries-old traditions, focus on personal development and introspection. They are designed to prompt reflection on how to live a virtuous life, make ethical decisions, and strive to be a better individual. These lessons are timeless and continue to resonate in today's world.

At the heart of Freemasonry is a commitment to charity. Being a Freemason means being taught to care for those less fortunate, making charity a fundamental aspect of our fraternity. Many members dedicate significant time and effort to philanthropic endeavors, helping those in need and making a tangible difference in their communities.

And let's not forget the fun and enjoyment that comes with being a part of Freemasonry. Our gatherings are not just meetings but are times of celebration, where we eat, drink, and enjoy each other's company. These moments are where lifelong friendships are formed and cherished memories are made.

In summary, Freemasonry offers a unique blend of friendship, diversity, personal growth, charitable work, and enjoyment. It's a journey of self-discovery, communal responsibility, and fun. The decision to join is yours, and it opens the door to a world of new experiences and meaningful connections.
